Friendly post

This is the proof of what a bad friend and person I am. Years and years ago my Super BFF in the all World was watching with me Kei Phillips illustrations and she said "Oh, I would like a pin-up portrait with this style".
And of course I said...

Back at that time I didn't know how to use vectors, I was super busy and I didn't find the time to finish a drawing. But I had the challenge, so year after year I kept on working a little bit on it. 
And this is the result.

Not very happy with the bkg of the first one, I'll maybe reconsider one of the hundred options I rejected.

And, yes, the expressions are a little different. The original one was the vintage one, but after closing that file, I wondered why she looked so sad and I changed it a little bit in the color version.

This, instead, is a quick one I did this week to play around a bit with Isabella, who got herself stuck in one of those useless fb debates. 

As the main theme of this post is friends, this is another one I did some months ago for a friend of mine who had a baby.

I guess it's enough!

Mosquito

Soooooo, I haven't been posting for a while, but it's super hot and it's hard been in front of the computer. And well, I've been busy...doing stuff (and things XD)... like this.

Finally tonight, I was ready to work a lot and, instead, that's what I found myself doing 

I swear this mosquito is crazy. It keeps flying around me changing direction continuously without a purpose. Sting me and go the fuck away!

I don't really know where this comes from. Mysterious mind process.

Working day

Posting live from work. I shouldn't do this right now. I should work on a new game. But these are my conditions.

I think I lost the right eye. It's weeping since this morning and I see everything blurred. Goodbye right side of the world, it was nice seeing you.

Another post dedicated to my beloved Pinterest boards. It's time for a new board, also to celebrate the 100 followers I reached this week. 
So, what's better than vikings? I've been for some months between them during the winter;

who I remember since my childhood. Thanks God, aging he has become much more "maschio", as we say in italian. I still have some concern about his voice and his acting... but this blog is not the place to talk about that :D

I've been very busy lately, new job, new routine and I'm not finding the strength and the time to finish something to post on the blog.
So, let's recycle! This is a very very old evolution challenge that I did for DAC on dA.

Bologna Children's book fair #6: I falsi miti

Ho avuto da fare e ormai non sono più sul pezzo, ma immagino che sia una condizione esistenziale che mi accompagna da sempre. In ogni caso, pepperepééééé, ultimo attesissimo appuntamento con la Children's Book Fair! Here we go:


Fin dalla preistoria il genere umano si è interrogato sulle cause dei fenomeni della natura, ma, prima dell'arrivo della scienza, le risposte erano dettate dal timore e dalla sensazione di impotenza di fronte a tanta grandezza. 
Nel tentativo di mitigare queste paure e spiegarsi questi fenomeni le popolazioni di tutto il mondo hanno sviluppato credenze, leggende, religioni, profezie, detti, codici etc etc...
Ma attento, giovane illustratore, non tutto il bene viene per non nuocere! Per quanto gli scopi iniziali fossero onorevoli (e anche questo è tutto da dimostrare) la possibilità di manipolare il prossimo, di sfruttare le paure altrui per i propri biechi interessi ricorrendo all'uso di queste regole, superstizioni o credenze si è subito insinuata nell'homo sapiens stronzus. 
Col passare degli anni si sono create differenze insormontabili tra i detrattori della verità bramosi di potere e le masse credenti. Ora io dico a te, futura promessa dell'illustrazione, risvegliati, allontana i fumi dell'oppio e ascolta quello che ho da dirti!! 
Capisco che la mia voce giunga debole alle tue orecchie; per questo ho invitato un'altra persona a fare le mie veci. Una persona a cui non potrai rimanere indifferente: 

Colei che sola poteva cambiare il mondo...non so se vi rendete conto del prestigio delle mie conoscenze! Comunque, passiamo la parola...

Monsters and kids

To honor my new board on Pinterest, called A monstrous friend here is an old illustration, that I called Dormidrago...a dragon you can sleep on. 

Kids and monsters is one of my topos, I have in mind to do something with this theme since a long time. On the other side, it must be said that after Monsters&co. (which I totally love) everything with these characters reminds of that. 
Anyway! New board! I love pinning!
